THE TEAM

Stephen Wingate-Pearse

Stephen has over 25 years of experience in commercial, intellectual property, tax, clean technology and property law. He has a passion for building brands, systems and efficiency

His clientele spans from mad-scientists and budding entrepreneurs to multi-national brands and corporations, including those specified on the home page.

Stephen was awarded a certificate of merit for outstanding work in Intellectual Property by the University of the Witwatersrand, where he graduated with an LLB in 1996. He articled under Allan Levin, voted SA’s leading commercial litigation attorneys by Euromoney in 1996, and thereafter founded ActiveOnline, SA’s first and largest online event entry and management portal, before forming KWP Attorneys in 2003.

He was a founding Trustee and pro bono legal advisor to Rhino Revolution Hoedspruit as well as a co-founder of Emerald Energy Africa, an initiative to promote greening and renewable energy throughout South Africa.

Outside of the law, Stephen is a devoted father and hyperactive, enjoying mountain biking, triathlons and golf.

Gray Muchechetere

Gray is a specialist in tax and property law and has a keen interest in commercial law particularly in the areas of Corporate, Contract, Banking and Finance, International Trade law, Competition and Securities Regulation, International Business Transactions and International Monetary Law.

Gray graduated from the University of Fort Hare earning his LLB with cum laude which led to him obtaining a Post Graduate Merit Award to study towards a masters degree at the University of the Witwatersrand. Subsequently, he completed his LLM in Corporate Law with the University of the Witwatersrand. Currently, he is studying towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Tax law at the University of the Witwatersrand. He also holds a certificate in International Trade regulation from the World Trade Institute in Bern, Switzerland.

Estéan Greyling

Estéan Greyling

Estéan is a dedicated and driven candidate practitioner. He graduated from North-West University (NWU) in 2021 with a BA Law, majoring in Industrial Psychology, and went on to obtain his LLB degree in 2024, with a strong interest in Intellectual Property Law and the emerging field of Space Law. In 2025 he commenced his articles with Philip Silver Mathura Inc and gained valuable experience in divorce law and civil litigation.

Since joining KWP in early 2026, Estéan has gained extensive experience in commercial litigation, intellectual property and tax law. Estéan is dedicated to developing his expertise and is committed to becoming an accomplished legal practitioner who delivers exceptional services tailored to each client’s unique needs. We look forward to supporting Estéan on his journey toward admission as an Attorney and are confident that he will be a valuable asset to our team and our clients.

Ephraim Gumbo

With 14 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping and administration, Ephraim is highly effective in fast-paced work environments. Accurate, assertive and adaptable he exhibits confidentiality, discretion, tact, diplomacy and professionalism when dealing with directors.

With a National Diploma In Accountancy (SAQA evaluated) and a Professional Diploma in Emergency and Disaster Management, Ephraim is a key member of the KWP Team under our financial services.

Moira Wingate-Pearse

Moira manages our Real Estate Department and clients including commercial, industrial & residential property portfolios both locally and Abroad. She has over 50 years experience in Real Estate and was the first female to be elected to the Board of Estate Agents.

Moira prides herself on expediting transfers, related property matters and stops at nothing short of providing the most efficient service in the shortest possible time. As a result, KWP is able to proudly claim that since commencing practice in 2002, we have never received a query from the Deeds Office.
